On December 20-22, 2008, Wrestling Canada sent its first Grappling Team to the FILA Grappling World Championships.  The event was held in Lucerne, Switzerland and was attended by 32 Countries from across the World.

Canada's representation was extended across Canada with athletes from Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, and Quebec.
